The MK30, developed in the 1970’s, is a heavyweight acoustic decoy used primarily in ASW training and also functions as an effective torpedo decoy. The MK 122 Mod 0 is an arming safety switch used with the F/A-18 aircraft to prevent premature fuse activation before bomb release. It provides an open circuit and RADHAZ shielding to block electromagnetic interference. Upon release, the lanyards pull the pin, safely closing the circuit only after the weapon has cleared the rack. A longer coaxial cable ensures charging voltage reaches the fuse before disconnection.
